Sophia Frances Noga, age 101, of Riverside, Illinois, passed away in Frisco, Texas, on November 9, 2021. Sophia was born January 26, 1920, in Chicago, to Bruno and Constance (Kosakoski) Zgliczynski, and was the youngest of their nine children. She graduated from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois, with Bachelors and Masters Degrees and was a schoolteacher for over thirty years. After college, she married Chester Andrew Noga, who passed away in 1978.
She is survived by her son, Darrell Noga and his wife, Genevieve; and her three beloved grandchildren, Ryan Noga, Sean Noga and his wife, Charlene, and Hayley Noga and her fiancé, Dylan Coats.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and eight siblings and was blessed with a long and eventful life. She was energetic, strong of will and mind, and left a significant impact on the numerous students she taught over the course of her career as an educator as well as on her family and friends who loved her.
A memorial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, November 22, 2021 in the St. Clare Chapel, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 8000 Eldorado Parkway, Frisco, Texas, 75034. An interment will take place at a later date at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, Illinois.
