Sonny D. Tabor

July 27, 1937 - December 22, 2018

Sonny Dee Tabor of McKinney, Texas passed away December 22, 2018 at the age of 81.  He was born July 27, 1937 to Allen Tabor and Lilly (Collins) Tabor in Lucasville, Ohio.  Sonny served his county proudly in the United States Air Force as an Airman at the Goose Bay Airbase in Labrador, Canada.  He married Shirley Anne Stapleton on October 6, 1956 in Morningside, Maryland.  Sonny retired from State Farm Insurance where he worked in facilities maintenance. He was an honorary member of the Lowry Crossing Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Tabor of McKinney, Texas; son, Richard Allen Tabor of McKinney, Texas; grandson, Justin Wayne Tabor of Richardson, Texas; brothers, Bud Tabor of Fort Worth, Texas, Rudy Tabor of Michigan, Mike Tabor of Lansing, Michigan, Sandy Tabor of New Hampshire; and sister, Juanita Smith of Ohio.

Sonny was preceded in death by his son, Michael Wayne Tabor; brothers, Jack Tabor, Jerry Tabor, Melvin Tabor, Bob Tabor; sisters, Kate Adams and Raynelle Van Nocker.

An inurnment will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 18, 2019 at Dallas- Fort. Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. I have such fond memories of working with him at State Farm. He was a sweet man and will be missed.
