Sonia Garza, a beacon of joy, laughter, and boundless creativity, left us on July 14th, 2024, at the age of 46. Born on July 7th, 1978, in Dallas, Texas, Sonia was not only a loving mother, but also a kind soul whose imaginative spirit touched everyone she met. She was known for her funny and silly personality, as well as her generosity.
From a young age, Sonia had a unique ability to see the world through a lens of humor and beauty. Her quick wit and infectious laugh could brighten the darkest of days, and her home was always filled with the sounds of laughter and love. Sonia's sense of humor was legendary; she had a knack for turning the most mundane moments into hilarious memories that her family and friends would cherish forever.
Sonia is survived by her parents, Alfredo Garza and Diana (Tijerina) Garza; her children, Esperansa Nash (wife Tiffanie) and Angelus Banaszak (husband Stephen); and her siblings, Demitro Garza (wife Lesley) and Juanita Archer (husband Taylor). She was also survived by her nieces and nephew, Leslie, Elena, Araceli, Micaela, Demi, Cecilia, Penelope, Diana, Adaline, and Alfredo; as well as her maternal grandfather, Renaldo B. Tijerina; and her paternal grandmother, Eva Garza. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Demitro Garza; her maternal grandmother, Juanita A. Tijerina; and nieces, Marisela and Isabel Garza.
A remembrance gathering will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 20th, 2024, at Turrentine Jackson Morrow Funeral Home, located at 201 North Cedar Street, Leonard, Texas 75452. Sonia Garza, you were a true original, and your memory will forever color our lives with joy and creativity.
