Sondra “Sunny” Cleveland, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025, in Allen, Texas, at the age of 59.
Born on June 28, 1965, in Orange, California, Sunny was the cherished daughter of Sandra (Allington) Rosson and Charles Rosson. She graduated from Orange High School in the Class of 1983 and later built a successful career in the food service industry, where she was known for her dedication and professionalism.
Sunny married the love of her life, Brett Owen Cleveland, on August 13, 1988, in Orange, California. Together they built a life full of love, laughter, and adventure, raising a family that was always the center of Sunny’s world.
She was a long-time and active member of New Hope Christian Church in Wylie, Texas, where her faith and service were central to her life. Sondra had a generous spirit and an unmistakable zest for life. She loved cooking—especially her famous crazy chicken, Chinese noodles and spaghetti and goat cheese—and was a self-proclaimed tough food critic when dining out.
Whether she was camping, tending her garden, or planning the next family trip, Sunny brought joy and energy to every moment. Her love for travel, her deep connection to her church, and the time she shared with her family defined her rich and vibrant life.
Sunny is survived by her devoted husband, Brett O. Cleveland of Allen, Texas; her sons, Kyle Cleveland of Fukuoka, Japan; Jason Cleveland and his wife Abi of Allen, Texas; and Garrett Cleveland of Allen, Texas. She is also survived by her sister, Lisa Loo of Phelan, California, along with numerous extended family members and dear friends.
