Son Thanh Vu

Jul 25 1963 - Jun 20 2026

Son Thanh Vu of Allen, Texas passed away on June 20, 2026, at the age of 62.

Son was born on July 25, 1963, in Vietnam to Phuong Duc Vu and Marrie Pham. At the age of 10, he immigrated with his family to the United States, settling in Wichita, Kansas. He graduated from Wichita Southeast High School in 1980 and went on to attend Wichita State University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in just three years with a double major.

While in college, Son met the love of his life, Jennifer. They married in 1988. Together, they raised two children, Sarah and Jonathan. His career eventually brought the family to Fort Worth, and later to the Garland and Allen areas.

Son was a steady and unwavering presence in the lives of those who knew him. A man of quiet strength and stoic character, he always put his family first. He worked tirelessly to provide for them and to ensure a better future, remaining devoted to their well-being throughout his life.

He had love for travel, exploring destinations across the United States and around the world with his family. In his free time, Son enjoyed fixing things, reading, and hosting karaoke gatherings for friends and loved ones.

One of his greatest joys was his granddaughter, whom he adored. He delighted in spending time with her, especially sharing music. She held a special place in his heart, and he took great joy in spoiling her.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Son is survived by his wife, Jennifer Dinh Vu of Allen, Texas; daughter, Sarah Culpepper and husband, Chad of Plano, Texas; son, Jonathan Vu of New York, New York; granddaughter, Margaret Culpepper; mother, Marrie Pham of Houton, Texas; sister, Elizabeth Nguyen of Houston, Texas; sister, Tina Vu of Houston, Texas; brother, Dexter Vu of Wichita, Kansas; sister, Amanda Ma of The Colony, Texas; sister, Melanie Vu of Friendswood, Texas; sister, Alyx Vu of Colleyville, Texas; brother, Joseph Vu of Overland Park, Kansas; and numerous other family and friends.
