Sixto A. Gatchalian Jr. passed away February 25, 2024 in Plano, Texas at the age of 81. He was born October 19, 1942 in Manila, Philippines to Sixto E. Gatchalian, Sr. and Marcela Austria. Sixto married the love of his life, Marilyn Munoz on April 6, 1970 in Manila, Philippines.

He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Plano, Texas. Sixto grew up in the Philippines. He received his Bachelor of Science in architecture from the University of Santo Tomas. He immigrated from the Philippines to the United States in 1971 and settled his family in Staten Island, New York. He moved his family to Plano, Texas in 1988 and designed his dream home. Sixto was an architect for JCPenney for 27 years until his retirement in 1999. He loved photography, painting, and all things audio-visual. Above all, he loved his family the most.

Sixto is survived by his wife, Marilyn Gatchalian of Plano, Texas; children, Elerie Tepedino and husband, Robert of Frisco, Texas and Everdale Gatchalian and wife, Lindsey of Celina, Texas; grandchildren, Skyler Tepedino, Spencer Tepedino, Isabella Gatchalian, Leo Gatchalian, Henry Gatchalian, and Veronica Gatchalian; brothers, Bayani Gatchalian and wife, Matilde, Rafael Gatchalian and wife, Agnes, Antonio Gatchalian and wife, Agnes and Efren Gatchalian and wife, Corazon; sister, Filomena Usigan and husband, Valentin; many nieces and nephews and a host of other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Alicia Gatchalian.

A mass will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church 2700 West Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, Texas 75023. The service will also be livestreamed at https://youtube.com/live/cYijNfet_a8?feature=share. Inurnment will follow at The St. Elizabeth Ann Catholic Church Columbarium. The family invites friends to a visitation from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
