Silvie M. Phifer, formerly of El Paso, Texas passed away August 10, 2012 at the age of 102. He was born November 21, 1909 in Valley Springs, Arkansas to Ransom and Essie (Knox) Phifer. On December 3, 1983 Silvie married Sandra Jennings in San Antonio, Texas. He worked for Safeway for 39 years and retired as a store manager. He was an avid lapidarist.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Phifer of McKinney, Texas; children, Paula Hulse and husband Daniel of Huntington Beach, California, Jim Phifer and wife Peg of Las Vegas, Nevada, Kevin Jennings and wife Tracy of McKinney, Texas, Anne Powers and husband Monty of Moody, Texas; grandchildren, Sharon Hulse, Danny Hulse, James Phifer, Kate Jennings and Austin Jennings; great-grandchildren, Kyra Phifer and Tiffany Phifer; great-great-grandchildren, Haley Gillum and James Napoleon; sister, Betty Marrs of Harrison, Arkansas; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
Silvie is preceded in death by his parents, Ransom and Essie Phifer; former wife, Evelyn Phifer; sisters, Bernice Phifer, Lena Ruth Koenig, and Esta Lee Welch; and brothers, James, Cecil and Sheldon Phifer.
An inurnment will be scheduled in El Paso, Texas at a later date.
