Shirley Darlene Gillock passed away April 4, 2022 in Dallas, Texas at the age of 84. She was born to Arthur and Alma (Mueller) Woods on June 6, 1937 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Shirley was a long-time member of Christ Church in Plano. She was very active in her church, serving in missions and other projects when the opportunity arose. Shirley also worked as a volunteer for the Dallas Arboretum. She loved to travel but loved spending time with her family and friends the most.
Shirley is survived by her son, Jon Blance and wife, Doris of Lakeway, Texas; grandson, Jon Scott and wife, Kaleigh; great granddaughter, August Rebecca Scott of Austin, Texas; brother-in-law, Max Shepherd of Garland, Texas; and son-in-law, Wesley Scott and wife, Susan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Gillock; daughter, Rebecca Scott; grandchildren, Samuel and Rachel Scott; parents, Arthur and Alma Woods; and sister, Carol Shepherd.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Christ Church of Plano, Texas. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 between 12 noon to 5:00 p.m. to pay their respects and to sign the register book. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service.
