Shirley Hudson Burnside of McKinney, Texas, passed away May 4, 2022, at the age of 82.  She was born on July 30, 1939, to Elmer Hudson and Stella Deloris (McAnally) Hudson in Blue Ridge, Texas.  Shirley was a 1957 graduate of Anna High School in Anna, Texas.  She married the late Bobby Paul Burnside on November 24, 1955 in McKinney, Texas, and they enjoyed nearly 49 years of marriage before his passing in 2004.  Shirley worked at numerous factories to provide for her family.  She enjoyed bowling, playing Bingo, and watching all sports.  Shirley also enjoyed cooking, but her greatest joy was her family whom she cherished greatly.  She was of the Baptist faith.  Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.  She will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughters, Paula Burnside of Carrollton, Texas; Kim Burnside of Hillsboro, Texas, and Kristi Prescott of McKinney, Texas; nine grandchildren, Dion, Julie, David, Samantha, Remington, Quinton, Tristen, Keely, and Noah; thirteen great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family members and friends.

Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby Burnside; parents; five brothers, Darryl, Gerald, Bud, Mark, and Johnny; and four sisters, Irene Pegram, Doris Garcia, Betty Burnside, and Margaret Hancock.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 9, 2022, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The service will also be live streamed at TJMfuneral.com on Shirley’s obituary page by clicking on the following link: https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/shirley-hudson-burnside.  After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location.  Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service.

The family will receive family and friends during a visitation on Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
