Shirley Ferline Benson

April 10, 1937 - February 11, 2018

Shirley “Ferline” Benson of Plano, Texas passed away February 11, 2018, at the age of 80.  She was born April 10, 1937, to Furrell Melton Brown and Willie Lee (Bartlett) Brown in Sweetwater, Texas.  Ferline married Harold Benson on December 19, 1954, in Sweetwater.  She was a 1955 graduate of Sweetwater High School and a member of the Beta Sigma Phi. Ferline was a food service manager with Plano ISD for forty years before her retirement.  She was also a member of the Texas Food Association. Ferline was a member of First United Methodist Church in Sweetwater.

Ferline is survived by her children, Genee Benson and Michael Benson both of Pilot Point, Texas.

She was preceded in death by husband, Harold Benson (1998) and brother, Roland Brown.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 16, 2018 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment is to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home
