Sheryl Kay Tucker, a resident of Garland, Texas, peacefully passed away after a 4-year battle with lung cancer on February 1, 2024, at the age of 71. She was born on March 18, 1952, to Billy Wayne and Pearl Wanda (Fenska) Rawdon in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
A proud 1970 graduate of Sapulpa High School in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Sheryl went on to achieve academic excellence, earning both her bachelor's degree from Northeastern State University and master's degree from the University of Oklahoma. On June 6, 1981, Sheryl married the love of her life, Michael "Mike" Tucker, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Together, they built a wonderful family and a life filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams.
She dedicated nearly 30 years teaching high school French and was a respected member of the educational community. Sheryl was an active member of several organizations, including the Retired Teachers Association, Silver Sneakers, Foreign Language Teachers Association, and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was selected by her students to be a member of Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. Her commitment to these groups reflected her passion for learning, community, and service.
Known for her joyful spirit, Sheryl found immense pleasure in playing card games, engaging in diamond dot crafts, and was an avid reader. Her talents extended to painting ceramic figurines, sewing, crocheting, and crafting beautiful clothes.
A passionate sports enthusiast, Sheryl's heart belonged to the Dallas Mavericks, but above all, she cherished her alma mater, the University of Oklahoma Football. She joyously embraced her role as a gymnastics/cheer mom during her daughter's younger years, supporting and encouraging her in every endeavor. Sheryl was very proud of her daughter’s extraordinary accomplishments in the sport of competitive cheerleading.
Sheryl loved to explore the world and had a deep appreciation for travel, taking her students on trips around France and creating cherished memories with her family. However, her greatest love was always reserved for her family, whom she held close to her heart.
Sheryl will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her kindness, unconditional love, and unwavering devotion to family and friends.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 42 years, Mike Tucker of Garland, Texas; daughter, Ashley Dromgoole and husband Scott of McKinney, Texas; sisters, Patti Anderson and husband Paul of Sapulpa, Oklahoma and Vicki Littlefield of Missouri City, Texas; brothers-in-law, Steve Littlefield of Trinity, Texas, Richard Jr. Tucker and wife, Virgie of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, William “Bill” Tucker of Mesquite, Texas, and Tom Tucker and wife, Savvy of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members and cherished friends.
Sheryl was preceded in death by her parents and her in-laws, Richard and Bonita Tucker.

The family will receive friends during a visitation at the Berkshire Chapel on Friday, February 16, 2024 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.
