Sherry Lynn Kennedy

April 8, 1965 - February 18, 2021

Sherry Lynn Kennedy of Allen, Texas passed away February 18, 2021 at the age of 55.  She was born on April 8, 1965 to Anthony David Peters and Karen Andrea (Gregory) Peters in Chula Vista, California.  Sherry married Byron Wade Kennedy on September 8, 2001 in Cooper, Texas.  She worked at the Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary in McKinney, Texas for over 18 years.  Sherry enjoyed many aspects of the outdoors especially hiking, camping and gardening.  She also enjoyed attending the annual Scarborough Renaissance Festival in Waxahachie, Texas.  She was an avid reader and loved marine life in particular dolphins. Sherry most loved her family and adored being a Gigi to Taylor and Connor.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 19 years, Byron Kennedy of Allen, Texas; stepchildren, Brandon Kennedy and wife, Katelyn of Melissa, Texas and Sarah Kennedy and fiancée, Cameron Powell of Tyler, Texas; grandchildren, Taylor Wade Kennedy and Connor Gene Kennedy; father, Anthony Peters; brothers, Kirk Peters and wife, Fran of Josephine, Texas and Barry Peters and wife, Melissa of Florida; sister, Jennifer Peters of Decatur, Illinois; stepbrothers, Brian Springett and wife, Julie and David Springett and wife, Tammy; her precious cat pals and a host of other loving family and friends.

Sherry was preceded in death by her mother, Karen Peters; stepmother, Barbara Peters; and sister, Lori Law.

A “come and go” viewing/visitation will be held on Sunday, February 21, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Only a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home facility at any one time to maintain social distancing.

Sherry, my sister from another mother, you left us too soon. If only we had another day to tell you how much we love you, to hug you. There will always be a special place in my heart for you. Every plant and flower I see will be thinking of you. As much as we miss you, I know you will not have to suffer any more in this old world.
