Sherri Lee Gage passed away after a brief illness in Allen, Texas at the age of 71. She was born December 11, 1952, in Cooperstown, New York to Russell Dutton and Louise Ackler.
In 1971 Sherri graduated from Richfield Springs Central High School in New York. She then married and for 21 years served as a proud and devoted Navy wife. In 1994, Sherri embarked on a 29-year career with CVS Pharmacy holding various positions including her favorite, Photo Lab Supervisor. After transferring to Texas to be near her daughter and family, she found her adopted home and remained there until her passing. Sherri’s hobbies included being a voracious reader, knitting, and crocheting. She had a special love of cooking and baking and would regularly share her favorites of Swedish Meatballs or Spaghetti along with a ‘sweet treat’ (as she would call them) with friends and especially family.
Sherri is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Mattix and husband, Robert, of Allen, Texas; grandchildren, Joshua Hewes, Marissa Mattix, Jordan Mattix and fiancé Monte Sin-Long, and Harper Gage; brother, Alan Dutton and wife, Sharon; brother, Kenneth Dutton and wife, Laura; niece, Lindsey Dutton; nephew, Neil Dutton, and other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, David Gage.
A private celebration-of-life will be held at a later date.
