Sharon Kaye “Sherri” Tuttle of Anna, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 9, 2017 at the age of 54. She was born on February 2, 1963 to Richard Erwin and Nancy (Burgett) Messner in Springfield, Missouri. Sherri grew up in Ripley, Tennessee and moved back to Springfield, Missouri at the age of 10 where she went on to graduate from Willard High School in 1981. Sherri then went on to graduate from Central Bible College in 1985 with a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education. She married Charles Tuttle on June 22, 1985 in Elwood, Missouri. Together they started their life in ministry in North Little Rock, Arkansas from 1985 to 1994. After that, they became pastors of Englewood Ministries in Independence, Missouri from 1994 to 1999. They pastored briefly in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and then moved to McKinney, Texas in 2002 and began to pastor at Genesis Church, formerly known as Family Worship Center. She was the worship pastor and a co-pastor there. Sherri was loved by many and touched many lives. She loved Jesus, her kids and country living.
Sherri is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Charlie Tuttle of Anna, Texas; daughter, Gentry Burton and husband, Calvin of Houston, Texas; sons, Weston Tuttle and Payton Tuttle both of Anna, Texas; parents, Richard Messner and his wife, Carolyn of Springfield, Missouri; sister, Karen Messner also of Springfield; mother and father-in-law, Jerry and LouAnn Tuttle of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sister-in-law, Roxanne Turnbloom and husband, Steve also of Colorado Springs; nephew William Barr of Colorado Springs; and numerous other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Burgett Messner; and grandparents, Orville Burgett, Leona Burgett, Gordon Messner and Florence Messner.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Christ Fellowship, 2801 Orchid Dr., McKinney, Texas. Private family interment will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in Westminster, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.
