IN LOVING MEMORY

Sherby Gene Clary, Jr.

May 08 1969 - Aug 08 2020

Sherby Gene Clary, Jr. (51) of McKinney, Texas, who was born May 8, 1969 to Sherby Gene Clary Sr. and Betty Clary in Morristown, New Jersey, passed away August 8, 2020. Sherby is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Becky (Green) Clary; son, Kyle Clary and wife, Leah; brother, James Mitchell; sister, Tracey Gibson and husband, Jeffrey; sister, Keisha Clary; 4 nieces; 4 nephews; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; as well as countless friends. Sherby was truly loved by all.

Sherby grew up with his siblings in Morristown and graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1992. After graduation, he moved to Dallas (because…well…Texas) where he was a successful accountant. He met Becky at work and soon, he and Kyle made their way into her heart. Sherby loved his family fiercely.

Sherby had an infectious smile and laugh, which he shared freely. Where others may have gathered souvenirs and possessions, Sherby gathered friends who became family. Christ’s light was a beacon that showed through Sherby; it was as tangible as his hugs and was beautiful to watch. Being a devoted follower of Christ, he lived his faith daily through his actions, his church—One Community Church, his small groups, Bible studies, and the Kairos ministry, for which he was treasurer. Besides his God, family, and friends, Sherby loved traveling, golf, and Michigan Wolverine football (Go Blue), although not necessarily in that order. We mourn the passing of an extraordinary human being, but feel sure he’s teeing up at the best course, with his parents watching, while waiting for his family and friends to join him.

Sherby is preceded in death by his parents, Sherby Sr. and Betty Clary.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Kairos Ministry. Checks can be made-out and mailed to Kairos-Beto PO Box 453311 Garland, TX 75405.  You may also donate at https://kairosatbeto.com/donate please designate the “George Beto Unit” for your donation.
