Shelby "Scott" Campbell

Shelby Scott Campbell of McKinney, Texas passed away on March 5, 2020, at the age of 87. He was born on August 8, 1932 to James Raleigh Campbell and Cordia Mae Templeton in Paris, Texas. He never liked the name Shelby and most of his friends never knew him by any name other than Scott. 

Scott graduated from Roxton High School in Roxton, Texas in 1948 at the age of 16. He then attended Paris Junior College, Paris, Texas where he majored in business and accounting. Scott moved to Dallas in 1951 and worked for Stanley Home Products until 1953 when he entered the US Army. After serving his country from 1953 to 1955, he returned to Dallas where he began a 40 year career in the banking industry, retiring in December 1995. He then went to work for Southwest Corporate Credit Union as a part time employee where he worked for 13 years.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Doris; daughter, Vicki Lea Weeber and husband, Terry; grandsons, Matthew Weeber and Kellen Weeber; great granddaughters, Claire Kathleen Weeber and Ellie Reese Weeber, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and loving friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Byron Lane Campbell; sisters, Landis Vivian Campbell, Annabel Drennen, Odessa Daniel, and Joyce Konkle; brothers, Kenneth Dean Campbell, and Royce “Buzzy” Campbell.

A memorial service will be held on March 15, 2020, at 2:00 pm at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.
