Shelby Mashea Renton, age 54, passed away peacefully on April 20th, 2026, surrounded by the family and friends she cherished above all else.
Born on July 26th, 1971, Shelby was known to her friends and community as a beacon of light. She was a gifted and awarded educator with Plano and Frisco ISD and enjoyed scrapbooking, game nights with family and friends, and quality time spent with the people she cared about most. Volunteering her time in the tech room at church displayed her servant heart and commitment to supporting others even from behind the scenes. Her true legacy was the profound devotion that she poured into her family and her faith. She was the steady anchor for her household, turning ordinary days into cherished memories with her loved ones. Being a teacher from the soul, also offering a lesson of life or math skill along with those memories.
Shelby was the beloved wife of 31 years to Rich, with whom she shared a partnership defined by mutual respect, unwavering support, and a lifetime of dreams. As a mother to her two sons, Kyle and Luke, she was their greatest champion. Whether on the sidelines of a soccer game, helping with school projects, or simply offering a listening ear, she instilled in them the values of kindness, curiosity, and integrity. Her boys were her greatest pride, and she leaves them with the indelible imprint of her unconditional love. An avid sports fan of Texas Tech, Dallas Stars, and the Olympics - but was most interested in all the personal stories of human adversity and perseverance behind it all.
She is survived by her husband, Rich Renton; sons, Kyle Renton and Luke Renton of Frisco, Texas; sister, Brandy Cuiskelly and husband, Eryn of Richardson, Texas; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walt and Dale Renton of Crossville, Tennessee. She was welcomed at the gates of Heaven by her daughter, Paige Renton and parents, Richard and Charlotte Madigan and many departed loved ones.
A service to celebrate Shelby's vibrant spirit will be held on Friday, April 24th, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at Preston Trail Community Church, 8055 Independence Pkwy, Frisco, Texas, 75035. The service will be live streamed, https://vimeo.com/event/4068587/c2f8764360
