Sharon Kay (Stephenson) Traw of Frisco, Texas passed away on July 21, 2018 at the age of 77. She fought a long battle after becoming very ill with complications from C-diff. (a very contagious intestinal infection) developed after ankle surgery.
She was born on May 2, 1941 to Louis Hamilton and Margaret Pauline (Modglin) Stephenson in Cobden, Illinois. Sharon married William Lee Traw on November 29, 1958 in Upland, California.
Sharon and William were married nearly 60 years and always loved being around their family. Sharon’s early childhood was spent in Illinois. She and her parents moved to California when she was about 9 years old. She met William at Methodist Youth Fellowship, dated all throughout high school and they were married on November 29, 1958.
William made it his purpose to love and protect her from that moment on. Sharon dealt with seizures from epilepsy that was diagnosed when she was about 10 years old and she had many bad experiences due to the way epilepsy affected her life. When she married William, she married a man who loved her unconditionally and always put her first. When their only child, Sherri, was born they were a sweet family of three. From that small family of three came many beautiful grandchildren and adored great grandchildren.
Sharon and William moved to Florida from California around 2001 and spent twelve years there together after William retired. In 2013, Sharon and William moved from Florida to Texas to be near their daughter Sherri and son-in-law, Michael who had been living in McKinney, Texas since 2007.
Sharon and William always enjoyed family get togethers and trips to Choctaw Casino every now and then. Sharon and Sherri became very close and spent many days together shopping, having lunch together and getting pedicures.
She will be missed greatly by everyone that knew her.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband, William L. Traw of Frisco, Texas; daughter, Sherri Lynn Murphy and her husband Michael of Prosper, Texas; grandchildren, Patrick Eugene Murphy, Kimberly Lynn Zavala, Jason Lee Murphy and Maggie Jane Murphy; and great-grandchildren, Braden Michael Murphy, Gavin Patrick Murphy, Elijah Sol Zavala and Caleb Justin Zavala.
