Shane Everett Briggs, age 44, of Allen, Texas, passed away March 2, 2018. Shane was born March 29, 1973, in Dallas, Texas, to Jimmie and Myra (White) Briggs. He married Nikki Reuer on November 10, 2001, in Allen. Shane was a registered nurse with Fresenius Health Partners and owner of Surface Design Group. He was an avid baseball fan and coach.
Shane was also a children’s book author and songwriter. Shane was always full of smiles and laughter. He cared deeply about Prader-Willi Syndrome fundraising for research dedicated to his son, Laden. Shane was loved by friends and family and touched so many lives.
He is survived by his wife, Nikki Briggs; sons, Rylan Briggs and Laden Briggs, both of Allen, Texas, Brandon Briggs, Chandler Briggs, Dawson Briggs, all of Plano, Texas, and Mason Montgomery of Fischer, Texas; mother, Myra Briggs of Pensacola, Florida; sisters, Becky Fussell and Cindy Wackes, both of Pensacola; and step-father, Kevin Farrow also of Pensacola.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Briggs, brother, Ronnie Briggs, grandmother, Irma White, grandfather, Ed Briggs, and grandmother, Beatrice Briggs.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at Hunters Glen Baptist Church, 4001 Custer Road, Plano, Texas, 75023. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00- 8:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
