Sgt. Robert “Bob” Taylor

Sgt. Robert “Bob” Taylor of McKinney, Texas passed away April 23, 2023 at the age of 84.  He was born on September 12, 1938 to Paul Taylor and Mary (Gilbert) Taylor in San Benito, Texas.  Bob was a graduate of W. B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi, Texas.  He married the late Linda Louise (Campbell) Taylor on July 30, 1960 in Corpus Christi and they enjoyed 41 years of marriage before her passing in 2001.  Bob was a Sergeant with the Texas Highway Patrol from 1959 until 1993.  He later worked with the Vehicle Inspection Service at the Texas Department of Public Safety until his retirement in 2003.  Bob was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church of McKinney.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.  Bob will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his son, Gary Allen Taylor and wife, Shelly of Wichita Falls, Texas; daughter, Tina Lynn Taylor of Denton, Texas; grandsons, Tanner Paul Taylor of Seattle, Washington and Robert Ryan Lair of Denton, Texas; brother, James Taylor of Houston, Texas; sisters, Carolyn “Scooter” Crawford and husband, Bill of Corpus Christi, Texas and Paula Sue Fulfs of Houston, Texas; brother-in-law, Stanley Sigg of Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Barbara Dudley of Austin, Texas; brother-in-law, Charles Campbell and wife, Barbara of Lovington, New Mexico; sister-in-law, Drucinda Campbell of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and numerous other loving family members and friends.

A funeral service will be held on 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 30,2023 at First United Methodist Church, 315 North Church Street, McKinney, Texas 75069.  Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013 for a committal service.

The family will receive family and friends during a visitation on Saturday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
