Born in Dallas, Texas, February 8, 1926 to Seth and Edna Steed, Skip joined the Marine Corp his last year of high school at the age of 17. He served 3 years in the South Pacific in World War II. Skip and Frances moved the family to Celina in 1953 and started a Dairy Farm business; however, Skip spent most of his life as a salesman for Cabell’s Dairies. The family were members of the First Baptist Church where Skip was always available to help, especially with the youth groups. Skip was also active in the school, serving as PTA President. Skip was first and foremost a family man and always took time for his family. In 1972, he was inducted as a Worshipful Master of the Masonic Lodge; which was something he truly enjoyed. He is survived by his wife, Frances, 5 children, 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Services will be held Friday, August 4, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Celina, Texas with Dr. Raymond Horne officiating. Interment will follow at Old Celina Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, August 3, 2006 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Celina.
