Serafin Ramirez Bazan of Frisco, Texas passed away November 5, 2014 at the age of 81. He was born April 22, 1933 to Serafin R. and Vivian (Gonzalez) Bazan in Mexico City, Mexico. Serafin married Josefina Sanchez on November 11, 1958 in Mexico City, Mexico. In the 1960’s Serafin migrated to Houston, Texas from Mexico. He enjoyed sports, fishing, camping and the outdoors. Serafin sacrificed everything for his family. He instilled the value of a good work ethic and education to all his children. Serafin will be remembered for the love of his family. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Frisco.
Serafin is survived by his sons, Dr. Frank Bazan of Frisco, Texas, Victor Bazan and wife Holly of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Albert Bazan of Houston, Texas, Jaime Bazan of Austin, Texas, Sergio Bazan and wife Brenda of Dallas, Texas, and Joe Bazan and wife Andrea of Dallas, Texas; daughters, Dr. Monica Bazan of Dallas, Texas and Marisela Whitelaw and husband Dr. Steve Whitelaw of Fayetteville, Arkansas; grandchildren, Haley Whitelaw, William Whitelaw, Abby Bazan, Addison Bazan, Madeline Bazan, Camryn Bazan and Trace Whitelaw; and brother, Geronimo Bazan.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Josefina Bazan; son, Serafin Bazan, Jr.; daughter, Rocio Bazan; and parents.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
