Sebastiano "Eno" Silvio Ferrara

Sebastiano (Eno) Silvio Ferrara of McKinney, Texas passed away December 24, 2018 at the age of 85.  He was born August 6, 1933 to Saverio Ferrara and Agatina (D’Angelo) Ferrara in Brooklyn, New York.  Eno was a 1957 graduate of St. John University in Queens, New York.  He married Norma Rainey on December 1, 1973 in Bonham, Texas.  His career spanned over 40 years in the aviation industry in financial management with such companies as Braniff, Panagra, and Virgin Atlantic Airlines.  He was a member of the Airline Financial Managers Association Board and served as a former president. 

He was an active member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Allen, Texas and also volunteered much of his time at Greenville Oaks Church of Christ in Allen.

Eno, with his wife Norma, was an avid world traveler, exploring many historic sites in the US, Europe (especially visiting relatives in Italy), parts of Asia and Iceland.  His favorite aspects of travel included visiting churches, trying different foods, meeting new people and delighting in nature. 

At home, Eno enjoyed hosting and cooking Italian specialties for friends and family. He loved music, particularly opera, and enjoyed going to the Dallas Symphony, Summer Musicals and many other live performances.

Eno is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Norma Ferrara of McKinney, Texas; nephew, Mike Ferrara and wife, Linda of Newmarket, New Hampshire; great-niece, Megan Ferrara of Brooklyn, New York; great-nephew, Nick Ferrara and wife, Leigh of Atlanta, Georgia; great-great-niece, Eva Taylor Ferrara; brother-in-law, Roland Rainey and wife, Patti of Allen, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bartolomeo Ferrara.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 4, 2019 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1515 North Greenville Avenue, Allen, Texas 75002. The family will receive friends during a remembrance gathering Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.

Memorials may be made in Eno’s honor to St. Jude Catholic Church Bell Tower Fund.
