Seaborn Wright McKinney, Jr., aged 89, passed away on March 8, 2025, at his home. Born on January 21, 1936, in Armuchee, Georgia, to Seaborn Wright McKinney and Agnes (Davis) McKinney, he was affectionately known as “June” during his early years. Seab began his education at Armuchee School in 1941 and later attended Armuchee Consolidated High School, graduating in 1953 as class president and an active member of various clubs and sports teams.

Following high school, Seab studied at Berry College from 1953 to 1955 before enlisting in the U.S. Army in May 1955. His 26½-year military career saw him rise to the rank of colonel by his retirement in November 1981. Commissioned from Infantry Officer Candidate School in 1957, Seab held numerous Intelligence and Electronic Warfare roles, including assignments in Korea, Vietnam, and Germany. He earned a degree from the University of Nebraska in 1961 and graduated from several prestigious military institutions, including the National War College in 1979.

After retiring, Seab settled in Plano, Texas, marrying Paige and later moving to Allen, Texas, where they raised their three children: Michael, Sara, and Matthew. A devoted family man of many interests, Seab cherished gardening, cooking, and nature, often taking his family on memorable summer road trips to historical sites and parks. His love for his five children—John, Teresa, Michael, Sara, and Matthew—was the heart of his life, bringing him immense joy and pride.

Seab is survived by his son John and wife, Kelly of Switzerland; daughter, Teresa; son, Michael of Allen, Texas; daughter, Sara of Dallas, Texas; son, Matthew and wife, Celeste of Plano, Texas; their mother, Paige Mullin; grandson, Maclyn of Switzerland; first cousin, Kay Davis Dunn of Atlanta, Georgia; and many other relatives and friends. The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to Sovereign Hospice for their exceptional care during Seab’s final year and a half.
