Scott Russell Baker

On Wednesday, March 3, 2021, Scott Russell Baker, of Allen, Texas, passed away at the age of 56. 

Scott was born on July 23, 1964, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He graduated from Plano Senior High School in 1983. He attended the University of North Texas in 1983-1985, and Southern Methodist University in 2000, receiving Microsoft Certified System Engineering / MCSE, MCP, A+ certification. Scott took great pride in being the best IT Administrator. 

Scott had a passion for problem solving and tinkering with tools to build and create, as his workbench was his other late-night office. Scott loved watching all sports on his big screen TV’s and listening to music at high decibel levels. Scott loved fishing, camping, boating, skiing, grilling with friends, and watching repeat episodes of Gunsmoke and MASH.  Scott had a good sense of humor and loved to laugh, as he said, “IT’S GOOD MEDICINE.” His personal motto, “IT IS WHAT IT IS!”

By far and away, Scott loved, and was most proud of his family. The “GIRLS”; Brandi & McKenzie, and Melanie, his best friend. 

Scott is survived by daughter, Brandi Jean Stolp of Allen, Texas; daughter, McKenzie Heather Baker of Allen, Texas; former spouse, Melanie Baker of Allen, Texas; mother, Audrey Woolley of The Villages, Florida; sister, Susan McClenahan of Dallas, Texas; sister, Nancy Calarco, Eureka, Missouri; sister, Bonnie Brown of Naperville, Illinois, as well as two granddaughters, and extended family members.  Scott was predeceased by his father, Russell Baker; grandfather, Samuel Baker; grandmother, Irene Baker. 

A celebration of life/prayer service will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021, 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, The Chapel, Allen, Texas, 601 South Greenville, Allen, Texas 75002.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Special Olympics https://www.specialolympics.org/get-involved/donate, one of Scott's favorite organizations.
