Scott Wendell Zinn, age 53, of McKinney, Texas, passed away October 7, 2015. Scott was born July 15, 1962, in Elkland, Maryland, to Dane and Sinda (Lively) Zinn. He grew up in Marshfield, Missouri where he graduated from Marshfield High School. Scott married Lorelei Ann Thompson on December 24, 2002, in Surrey, BC, Canada. He worked in the software business most recently for four years with Fujitsu as a Senior Networking Engineer.
Scott was a brilliant, sensitive man with a passion for knowledge. His dry humor and wit surpassed the general population’s understanding. He was selective in who he became close with, but made true bonds with the ones he did. He loved building models, lego and playing with remote control toys. Together, he and Lorelei shared a passion for animal rights. He took care and loved his family.
In July, Scott was able to spend time golfing with his brother, Brian, and they playfully teased each other about their lack of skills. They had a healthy competition, in the way that brothers do.
Scott loved and looked after Lorelei in every way. He would check on her daily and ask, “How are you?” with true concern. His first words he had ever said to Lorelei were, “I will look after you,” which is a promise he kept. Throughout their time together he was true to his word. One of the last words he said to Lorelei was, “I will always look after you.”
Scott is survived by his wife, Lorelei, his step-children, Tessa Abbott, Mikhail and his wife Sara Abbott, Katelyn Abbott, his parents: Sinda Zinn and Michael Opsomer, Dane and Sue Zinn, his sisters; Cynthia and Doug Brown, Kimberley and Dennis Totten, nephews: Ian, Conner, and Walter, and niece; Lilia.
You will be forever in our hearts.
