Scott Russell Meyer of McKinney, Texas passed away March 27, 2022 at the age of 58 after a courageous battle with a relapse of Myeloid Acute Leukemia. He was surrounded by his wife and family. He was born March 24, 1964 to James Russell Meyer and Mary (Shoenweather) Meyer in Rochester, Minnesota. After residing in Silver Bay, Minnesota, the family moved to Frederic, Wisconsin where Scott graduated from Frederic High School. While in high school, Scott participated in sports activities including wrestling and track. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping, hunting, swimming, skiing and snowmobiling. Scott was a sports fan and loved the Minnesota Vikings and Nebraska Cornhuskers.
After graduating from high school, he proudly served in the United States Air Force for 17 years. During his years in the service, he was recognized for many outstanding achievements.
He completed his bachelor’s degree at Bellevue University in Nebraska with a degree in Computer Information Systems. Scott was employed by WorldLink/Samsung as a Systems Engineer Analyst for over 10 years.
Scott married Angela Perez on September 30, 1995 in Lubbock. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, brother-in-law, and friend. Scott will be missed dearly by his nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, and others who loved him. His beloved pups, Linus, Buddy and Ojo will miss him fiercely.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Angela Meyer of McKinney, Texas; Scott’s children, Jessica Meyer and Jacob Meyer; granddaughter, Elisa Agner; father, James Meyer and wife, Phyllis of Wisconsin; mother, Mary Looper of St. Cloud, Minnesota; sister, Shelley Mazelin and husband Tony of Portland, Oregon; and loved ones, Sharon Ellefson and husband, Bob of Rochester, Minnesota and a host of other loving family and friends.
Scott was preceded in death by his sister, Sarah Looper.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 8, 2022 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location. Following the service, a procession will make its way to the Garden Pavilion at Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service.
The family will receive family and friends during a visitation on Thursday, April 7, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
