Scott Raymond Evans

Scott Raymond Evans of McKinney, Texas passed away March 16, 2019, at the age of 64.  He was born on May 16, 1954, to Edwin Eschler Evans and Mildred (Belnap) Evans in Salt Lake City, Utah.  Scott married Debra Hutchinson on August 17, 1976, in the Salt Lake City Temple.  He was a resident of McKinney for twenty-one years.  Scott graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Brigham Young University. He earned a Master’s in microbiology from UTMB and a Masters of Business Administration from Embry-Riddle University.  Scott retired from Laboratory Corporation of America (LabCorp). He was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served two missions in Argentina. The first as a young man and the second with his wife, Debra.

Scott is survived by his beloved wife, Debra Evans of McKinney, Texas; children, Angela Smith and husband, Josh of Rowlett, Texas, Brian Evans and wife, Carla of Parrish, Florida, Caroline Dixon and husband, Simon of Apollo Beach, Florida, Bradley Evans and wife, Alyson of McKinney, Texas and Kyle Evans of Carrollton, Texas; sisters, Karen Evans Stevens of Beaverton, Oregon, Diane Kimball and husband, David of Sandy, Utah, and Pamela Brown and husband, Todd of Meridian, Idaho; brothers, Howard Evans and wife, Mary Jeanne of Diamond Bar, California and Mark Evans and wife, Nadine of Payson, Utah;  and eleven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Mildred Evansand sisters, Marjorie Evans and Laurie Evans.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 22, 2019 at The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, 1020 N. Lake Forest Drive, McKinney, Texas 75071. Interment is to follow in Pecan Grove Cemetery, 1701 S. McDonald, McKinney, Texas 75069.  The family will receive friends during a visitation Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
