Scott McKinley Harper, of Allen, Texas, passed away on June 18, 2025, at the age of 68.
Scott was born on April 22, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois, to William McKinley Harper, Jr. and Lois Jane Hughes. He grew up in Chicago and graduated from Morgan Park High School. Scott worked for Jewel food store where he met his future wife, Carolyn. While working at Jewel, he attended Washburne Trade School, where he studied HVAC. Scott worked for Southtown Refrigeration in Chicago; ABBA Mechanical in Plano, Tech Plan in Plano, and later started up his own company, Accu-Aire Heating and Air.
On October 18, 1980, Scott married Carolyn Jean Kaiser. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, love, and family. In 1986, they moved to Allen, Texas, where they raised their twin daughters, Laura and Shannon, who were born in 1992.
Scott was a man of deep faith and commitment. He was actively involved at Grace Church in Lucas, where he mentored the youth group and shared his passion for the Bible. A lifelong learner and teacher, Scott also practiced martial arts and enjoyed passing on his knowledge to others.
He cherished time with his family, especially as a grandfather, and found joy in watching his grandchildren grow. Scott loved taking trips to Fredericksburg and the Texas Hill Country and could often be found reading his Bible and studying theology.
Scott's life was a testament to service, devotion, and love—qualities that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Scott is survived by his wife, Carolyn Harper of Allen, Texas; daughter, Laura Warner and husband, Johnathan of Anna, Texas; daughter, Shannon Marsh and husband, Walker of Mineola, Texas; grandchildren, Ezra 8, Riley 7, Elijah 5, and Emma, 4 months; sister, Janet Bower and husband, David of Indiana; and numerous other family and friends.
