IN LOVING MEMORY

Scott Matthew McKnight

Dec 19 1964 - Jan 02 2025

Scott Matthew McKnight passed away on January 2, 2025 after his struggle with cancer and the effects of longer-term chemo treatment. A Celebration of Life service will take place at 1:30 p.m., Monday, February 10. 2025 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 10135 West Road, Houston, Texas with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. before the church service. The family will an additional informal gathering with some stories, food and refreshments following the church service around 2:00 p.m.

Scott is preceded in death by his spouse, Samantha McKnight, father, Jack McKnight and stepfather, James Ussery; brother, Jack “Jay” McKnight, Jr. and brother-in-law, Richard Martin. He is also survived by his loving mother, Dorothy “Dot” McKnight Ussery, his “other loving” mother/sister, Leslie Martin along with his other siblings and their spouses, Mark McKnight, Craig and Ginger McKnight, Donna and Carlos Amaya, Jason Ussery, Wendy Ussery and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Scott loved swimming in his pool and was ready to travel to the beach anytime. He seriously considered retiring in Costa Rica or on a beach somewhere but only in his dreams after cancer hit. Scott did not want to have a funeral to honor him, was actually very religious and was a very private person. Scott actions and words led through example of how he lived his life as a loving, loyal, considerate, generous man and husband. His long and faithful dedication to his wife in her many years of struggles with health issues is a testament to his life. Words just don’t do justice to how amazing he was and how much we will miss him.

In leu of flowers, please give to the charity of your choice or American Cancer Society if you do not have a preference.
