Sarah Glyn Hendrex, 97, passed away peacefully surrounded by family May 26, 2019 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Born May 24, 1922 in Princeton, Texas, to William Brantley House and Beulah D. Wright House. She graduated from Farmersville High School.
She was married to Allen Newton Hendrex on July 20, 1940. She was preceded in death by her husband, mother and father, and brother, Walter House. She was a member of Farmersville Church of Christ and later Chandler Road Church of Christ in Muskogee. She worked at McKinney Livestock Auction, Greenville Livestock Commission, Citizen State Bank in Princeton, Texas, and co-owner of Petals, Etc. flower shop in Farmersville.
She loved gardening, crocheting edges on homemade baby blankets, doing word searches, and playing with her grandchildren and later great grandchildren.
Sarah is survived by son, Bob Hendrex(Sally) of Muskogee; daughter, Nancy Chumbley(Steve) of Argyle, Texas; grandsons, Brantley Hendrex(Jessica), Casey Chumbley(Angel), and Cody Chumbley(Amy); granddaughters, Jordan Hill(Neal)) and Elizabeth Nelson(David); great grandsons, Jaxson Hill, Ben Hill, Barrett Hill, Wyatt Hill, Caden Chumbley,Keaton Chumbley, Zeke Hendrex; great granddaughters, Lucy Nelson, Charlotte Hill, Juliet Hendrex, and baby girl Hill coming in August.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at The Springs in Muskogee for their loving care.
Family visitation will be Friday evening, May 31, 2019, from 6 PM to 8 PM at Hurst’s Fielder Baker Funeral Home, 107 N. Washington Street, Farmersville, Texas.
Service will be at Farmersville Church of Christ, 310 North Highway 78 at 10 AM on Saturday, June 1, 2019.
Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Climax,Texas.
