Sarah "Jo" Alexander

October 21, 1923 - June 8, 2007

Sarah “Jo” Alexander, age 83, formerly of Garland, Texas, passed away June 8, 2007 in Sherman. She was born October 21, 1923, in Bowlby, Texas, to Lesley and Pearl Mae (Hinsley) Lewis. She was an electronics assembler and a member of the Church of Christ. She is survived by her daughters, Virginia Whitmire and her husband Jack of Whitewright, Judy Sadler and her friend Forest Warden of Trenton, and Lois Himelright and her husband Loring of Trenton; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris Loveday of Farmers Branch and Mary Keller of Krum; brother, James Lewis and his wife Jeanette of Garland; and many other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her son, Johnny Alexander; grandson, Tony Himelright; four sisters; four brothers; and the father of her children, Leon Alexander in 1995. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 11, 2007 at Walnut Grove Cemetery with Charles Wrenn officiating. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
