Sara Elizabeth Knight Holmes, lovingly known as “Sissy” and “Queen,” was born on October 1, 1981, in Metairie, Louisiana, and passed away peacefully on August 12, 2026. She spent her final years residing in Allen, Texas, where she was deeply loved and cherished by those who knew her.
Sara was a beloved wife, daughter, and friend whose generous heart and beautiful spirit left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She had the most amazing steel blue eyes. She had such a beautiful voice. She lit up every room and made people laugh. She had such an infectious goofy side. She loved like no one else could love. She was loved like no one else could be loved. She loved her friends. Most of all she loved her family. Her favorite thing was the happy home she made with Chris and the kids. Sara was a go-getter and tenacious, approaching life with determination and an unwavering spirit. She was always so beautiful no matter what time of day or year it was. She possessed a beauty that went beyond her appearance—she was elegant, comforting, and genuine, with a heart that made others feel loved and cared for.
Sara’s kindness and generosity were among the many qualities that made her so special. She gave freely of herself and had a way of making people feel valued and welcomed. Her laughter, humor, strength, and loving heart will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Sara is survived by her devoted husband, Christopher Holmes; her children Jackson Gerkin and Grayson Gerkin; her loving mother, Elizabeth Knight; her father, James Knight; and her brother, Brandon Knight. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, laughter, generosity, and cherished memories that will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
