Santosh Malhotra peacefully passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025, on her own terms. She was the beloved wife of the late Mahindra Kumar Malhotra, with whom she shared 65 and a half years of marriage and friendship. Santosh was an extraordinary mother to Rashmi Malhotra, Rajesh Malhotra (Jyoti Chopra-Malhotra), and Robin Malhotra (Jana Malhotra), and a proud, deeply cherished “Dadi” to Kassi, Nina, Nikhil, and Jakub. She was a loving “Bua” to all her nieces and nephews. She was also a loving pet dadi to Blueberry, Nika and Hershey!
Santosh’s joy is now complete as she reunites in heaven with her husband “Makai,” her father Jagan Nath Duggal, her mother Shiva Rani Duggal, and her brothers Badri Nath, Kailash Nath, Som Nath, and Ajudhia Nath. She is survived by her brother Amar Nath Duggal, who will continue to honor her memory.
Born in Lahore, India, Santosh faced immense challenges early in life, losing her mother at just four years old. Yet she thrived as the cherished daughter and “apple of the eye” of her father and five brothers, who loved her dearly. After marrying Mahindra in December 1959, she became the “Rani” of his heart and life—a role she filled with grace, warmth, and devotion. Together, Santosh and Mahindra moved from India to Canada in 1969 to give their children a better life. They overcame all the challenges of starting over with grace and built an incredible legacy, raising their three children and welcoming their daughters-in-law and grandchildren with open arms filled with love, joy and happiness. Their journey was marked by courage, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to family-a foundation that continues to inspire generations.
Santosh was a born leader. Despite having only a grade 10 education, she carved out a remarkable career, working at Peoples Jewelers as lead Diamond Sales Representative for over 25 years. She even won a trip to Japan for her incredible diamond sales success. Her wit and charm made her the life of every room she entered, winning the hearts of colleagues and customers alike. Through dedication, warmth, and a natural knack for connecting with people, she set a shining example of hard work and resilience—proving that true brilliance comes not from titles, but from character and heart. Her biggest accomplishment was being such an amazing Grandmother.
Santosh’s legacy is one of love, strength, and unwavering family bonds. She will be deeply missed and remembered with love by all who were blessed to know her.
Mom, we are forever grateful for your unconditional love with your sweet kisses.
Love you from down to sky ‘Till we meet again, Rashmi, Raj and Robin.
