IN LOVING MEMORY

Sandra Briscoe

Feb 04 1946 - Sep 25 2021

Sandy Harper Briscoe, 75, loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister and friend, entered into the glory of eternal life on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in McKinney, Texas following a nearly month-long battle with Covid-Pneumonia surrounded by her loving family.

Sandy was born on February 4, 1946 in Kansas City, Kansas, daughter of John Harper and Margaret Gonzales Harper. She graduated from Bishop Hogan High School in 1964, and in 1968, she graduated from the University of Missouri with a B.A. in Elementary Education, and was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi, Sorority. She later worked as an elementary school teacher, and then resided with her family in Kansas, Minnesota, and St. Louis, where she received a life-saving organ transplant on April 1, 2009. In 2014, Sandy permanently relocated to Texas with her family.

Sandy “aka Grandma Su-Su” enjoyed playing bridge, cooking, container gardening, loved needlepoint and was a voracious reader. She was also a decades-long member of the Junior League.  She will always be remembered for her kind and caring heart, for all those fortunate enough to have known her, including the incredible front-line doctors and nurses who cared for her at Baylor Scott & White where she felt she was treated like a ‘queen’. Sandy felt surrounded with the peace and love of God, the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary. She was unafraid, due to her unwavering faith in God’s ultimate plan.

Married 50 years, her loving and devoted husband, Richard Briscoe will always treasure her memory. Sandy also leaves behind two daughters, Jennifer Briscoe and Carrie Allen along with her son-in-law Brett Allen, adored grandchildren Brogan and Brittany Allen and Sister Chris Carlson. In addition, many numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, extended family and forever friends, survive her.

A Recitation of the Holy Rosary is scheduled for 6:30 P.M., and visitation following with the family at 7:00 P.M., Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North in Allen.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M., Monday, October 4, 2021 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 110 St. Gabriel Way, McKinney, Texas 75071.

The Rite of Committal and Burial Services will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North in Allen.  A Celebration of Life will follow at approximately 1:30 pm, at the Stonebridge Ranch Community Association’s Community Room, 6201 Virginia Parkway.
