Sandra Jan Wells

September 26, 1933 - April 11, 2011

Sandra Jan Wells, a beautiful, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, was called home by her Lord on Monday April 11, 2011 after a brief but courageous battle against cancer. Sandra was born the first child to Harold Barnes Shile and Eleanor Louise Morris Shile on September 26, 1933 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Sandra graduated from Amarillo High School in 1951. It was in west Texas that she met and married the love of her life, Ray Manly Wells, on December 22,1951. Ray and Sandra moved from Amarillo to Richardson, Texas in 1968 where Sandra worked as an accountant for Chapman, Hext and Vaugh until her retirement in 1998. Ray and Sandra moved to McKinney, Texas in 2007. Volunteering at her church, great-grandparenting, gardening and shopping with her friends and family were her passions. Sandra always committed herself to God’s care, secure in His love for her and trusting in the salvation purchased for her through Christ’s suffering and death. She leaves those who survive her with the comfort of knowing that she died in this faith and has now joined her Lord in Eternal Glory. We were happy to have met and shared Drew and Aubry's lovely love story and wedding with Sandra. Her merciful Savior gathered her quickly to Himself! Hallelujah! Chris Solomon, April 18, 2011 Some of my favorite memories of Mamaw include: the crazy conversations and laughter when we'd get together as a family at Christmas and Birthdays - especially when my Mom, Linda and Nita were all there! We love her idiot's delight recipe and are inspired by the commitment seen to her marriage with Papaw. Drew and Aubry Hartman, April 16, 2011
