Sandra Jan Wells, a beautiful, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, was called home by her Lord on Monday April 11, 2011 after a brief but courageous battle against cancer. Sandra was born the first child to Harold Barnes Shile and Eleanor Louise Morris Shile on September 26, 1933 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Sandra graduated from Amarillo High School in 1951. It was in west Texas that she met and married the love of her life, Ray Manly Wells, on December 22,1951. Ray and Sandra moved from Amarillo to Richardson, Texas in 1968 where Sandra worked as an accountant for Chapman, Hext and Vaugh until her retirement in 1998. Ray and Sandra moved to McKinney, Texas in 2007. Volunteering at her church, great-grandparenting, gardening and shopping with her friends and family were her passions. Sandra always committed herself to God’s care, secure in His love for her and trusting in the salvation purchased for her through Christ’s suffering and death. She leaves those who survive her with the comfort of knowing that she died in this faith and has now joined her Lord in Eternal Glory. She was preceded in death by her parents and other dear loved ones. Survivors include: Husband - Ray Wells Children - Dana Hartman and husband Tim, Kelle Atteberry, Brian Wells and wife Robin Grandchildren - Jordan Burns and husband Ryan, Michelle Pankey and husband Charles, Drew Hartman and wife Aubry, Joshua Atteberry, Yeardley Wells Great grandchildren, Zachary, Makenna and Isobel Pankey and Leah Burns Sisters - Linda Nierste, and Nita Bertram and husband David and other extended family members and dear friends Memorial Service: Saturday, April 16, 2011, 11:00 am at Calvary Lutheran Church, located at the corner of Church Road and Audelia in Dallas, Texas .
