Sandra Carroll McClain was called home on December 6, 2024, in McKinney, Texas. She was born on August 16, 1944, on Johnson Hill in Farmersville, Texas to Lee and Lanora Johnson. She was one of five children on a working farm with a dairy barn, cattle, chickens, hay field and large gardens. She learned family values and work ethic from a very early age.

Sandra grew up in the Primitive Baptist faith attending church locally in Farmersville and various church meetings all over Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas. In fact, Sandra met her husband at church. Sandra and Glenn were married on January 25, 1964, in her parent’s home in a ceremony officiated by Glenn’s father, Elder Lowell McClain, an ordained Primitive Baptist Pastor. Sandra and Glenn raised their four children (Glenda, David, Sharon, and Tony) in the Primitive Baptist faith with many family vacations centered around 5th Sunday Meetings and Church Associations.

For much of her life, Sandra was a “Stay at Home Mom” with her children each morning till they went to school and waiting for them every afternoon when they returned home with a homemade snack. That is only part of the story, Sandra raised massive gardens with her mother and sister in laws that provided fresh produce as well as frozen and canned goods. For several years Sandra worked as a Home Health Consultant caring for others in their homes during school hours. Another part time job included doing Make Ready cleanup work at new home sites. After raising her family, Sandra spent many years working for North Farmersville Water Corp., but her favorite job was babysitting. In her spare time, Sandra was an avid reader. Her favorite author was Louis L’Amour, a Western-Fiction storywriter.

Sandra leaves behind her loving family, her daughter Glenda and her husband Darren Brooks, son David and his wife Jodi McClain, daughter Sharon McClain, son Tony and his wife Melissa McClain, 8 grandchildren: Cyndi and David Quinonez, Aaron and Christi McClain, Kelsie and Tyler Hamilton, Austin Brooks, Byron Brooks, Jacob and Doenisha Bernier, Justin McClain, Jenna McClain, 7 great-grandchildren; Kersie Garza, Kelton Walker, Adam Larson, Audrey McClain, Olivia Hamilton, Juliette Hamilton, Anaiya Bernier, her great-great grandchild: Wrenlee Grace and her brother Vernon Johnson
