Samuel Roger Buckmaster

Samuel Roger Buckmaster passed away January 15, 2022 in McKinney, Texas at the age of 87. He was born to T.S. and Armavena (Stringer) Buckmaster on November 17, 1934 in Dimmitt, Texas.  While in High School he was a member of The Castro County Farm Bureau Choir.

Roger married Charlotte Ray Ragland of Ralls, Texas in Lubbock on February 18, 1955. They moved to Fort Leonard Wood Missouri where Roger served in the Army from July of 1953 until his discharge in June of 1955. After his service ended they moved to Oklahoma City where he began his career in the storm door and window industry. Later he and Charlotte moved to Nashville TN where he created and operated his own business, Midstate Door and Window Company. He sold that business and worked for Landstar Poole Trucking Company and received many awards for safety and driving excellence. After leaving that position, he worked for Avis Car Rental in Nashville where he finally retired.

Roger is survived by his wife, Charlotte, of McKinney, Texas; sister, Deborah Baker and husband Billy of Sun Rise Beach, Texas; and a host of other loving family and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Ronnie Buckmaster.
