Sammy Glen Powell, age 87, of Burleson, Texas, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2020, in his sleep. He was born on February 18, 1933, in Celina, Texas, to S. O. and Zora B. (King) Powell. He graduated from Celina High School. Sammy married Eva Elizabeth Jeter on May 30, 1956. He was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ. Sammy was also a member of the Black Angus Association.
He is survived by his daughters, Sharlene Williams and Cindy Wood and husband, Zac, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Eva, son, Ronny Smith, brothers, J. T., Reed, Winston, and Herman, and sisters, Annie Ruth and Ina.
A private funeral service will be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 109 S. Oklahoma St., Celina, Texas, 75009. Interment will follow the service at Old Celina Cemetery in Celina.
In support of our local, state, and federal govt including CDC directives and to protect the physical health, safety and well-being of our community, only a limited number of guests will be allowed to attend the Funeral Service.
