Mr. Salvatore "Sal" Brescia, age 90, of Plano, Texas, passed away August 26, 2006, in Plano. He was born January 9, 1916, in Mt. Vernon, New York. On September 14, 1941, he married Mary Rose Roberto in New York. He was a welder by trade and a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. He is survived by his son, Joseph Brescia of Thornwood, New York; daughter, Addy Hjarpe of Garland, Texas; son-in-law, Charlie Paruolo of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, William Paruolo, Denise Paruolo, Thomas Paruolo, Joseph Brescia, Michael Brescia, and Bobby Brescia; great grandchildren, Joshua Hobbs, and Gabriela, Anthony, Dominic and Juliana Paruolo; brothers, Nick Brescia and Vinnie Brescia; and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary on January 15, 2003; parents; and brother, Johnnie Brescia. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, August 28, 2006, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 West Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, Texas, with Father Henry Petter, officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday, with a prayer service to be held at 7:00 PM, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
