Sally Jo (Hackney) Langley, a resident of Allen, Texas passed away December 20, 2024, at the age of 87. She was born on January 6, 1937, to Juttie Hackney and Willie Mae (Claycomb) Hackney in McKinney, Texas. Sally graduated from McKinney High School in 1955. She met the love of her life, Jack Weldon Langley. They celebrated their love and commitment to each other on their wedding day, July 17, 1957, in Durant, Oklahoma. Over the years, Sally and Jack created countless joyful memories while raising their three children and later enjoying two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
After Jack’s service in the US Air Force, he and Sally bought a house in Allen, Texas. Jack joined his father’s plumbing business and Sally was his secretary and office manager for 35 years, until retirement.
Sally was of the Baptist faith.
Sally is survived by two of her children, Cathy Langley and Keith Langley and wife, Valerie; grandchildren, Matthew Langley and Scott Langley and wife, Amanda; and great-grandchildren, Bruce Weldon Langley and Abbey Jo Langley; and her brother Tom Hackney of Leonard, Texas; and a host of extended loving family and friends, who will fondly cherish her memory, and dearly miss her.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents Juttie Hackney and Willie Mae (Claycomb) Hackney; beloved husband, Jack Weldon Langley; son, Kenneth Langley; five brothers and one sister, Charlie, J.A., Bill, Bob, Freddie and Dorothy.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 27, 2024, at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas, 75013.
