Ruth Robinson Meyer was called home by her Heavenly Father on Monday, July 29th, 2024. As in life, she was surrounded by her loving family as she transitioned to soar with the angels.
Ruth Robinson Meyer was born on May 25, 1948 in East St. Louis, Illinois to Dena (Dietrich) Robinson and James Robinson Sr. She married the love of her life, Brad Meyer, on July 15, 1983 in St. Louis, Missouri. Brad and Ruth moved to Plano, Texas in 2000. They recently celebrated 41 years of marriage filled with boundless love, acceptance, and joy.
Ruth was a dedicated and loving mother to her daughters, Amanda Massengale and Morgan Meyer. She instilled the gift of self-confidence, ambition, and a heart for service within both daughters. She was a dance mom in the best way, and her compassionate spirit lives on through them. Ruth was also the perfect Granny to Amanda and her husband, Wayne’s two sons, Anthony (11) and Cameron (10). She spent every moment she could nurturing and spoiling the boys who already miss her warm hugs.
The way Ruth lived her life was a testament to her endless empathy, her generous heart, and her selfless commitment to service. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church and was involved in a myriad of ministries dedicated to serving those in need.
Ruth was preceded in eternal rest by her parents and her younger brother, James Henry Robinson II. Her family is comforted by the belief that she is embraced by those who passed before her along with the pets she took such good care of.
We will celebrate Ruth’s life on Saturday, August 10th at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church (1914 Ridgeview Dr. Allen, Texas 75013) at 11:00AM. The service will be live streamed through the church’s website (www.ourladyofangels.com) for those who are not able to travel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to improve the sound system for the hearing impaired at Our Lady of Angels Church. Please make your donations, payable by check, to Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church. In the memo section of the check, please put Ruth Meyer – Hearing Enhancement.
