Ruth Maria Candelario of McKinney, Texas passed away December 12, 2019, at the age of 87. She was born on April 28, 1932, in Bremerhaven, Germany. Ruth was a graduate of Wulsdorf Hoch Schule in Germany. She married Cecil Candelario on December 19, 1960. Once Ruth and Cecil were married, they traveled the world together, going wherever his Air Force career took them. After retiring, they moved to Plano and eventually settled down and made their home in Mckinney, Texas. Ruth was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who spent her life loving her husband, raising their child, and watching her grandkids grow up.
Ruth is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Cecil Candelario; son, Dr. David Candelario, D.O., and wife, Sharolyn; grandchildren, Mikaela Candelario and Joshua Candelario; siblings, Dieter Ficken, Manfred Ficken, Marieluise Von-Harten, Helga Lenga, and Christa Edwards; and numerous other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Johann Martin Ficken and Marie Hilke Ficken; siblings, Giesla Englein, Bodo Ficken and Wilfred Ficken.
The family will receive friends during a visitation Wednesday evening, December 18, 2019 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 19, 2019, at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.
