Ruth Verlyne Littlefield, age 82, of Flatonia, Texas passed away November 8, 2007 in Austin, Texas. She was born May 7, 1925 in Lucas, Texas to William Thurston and Retta (Brown) Creel. On April 15, 1944 she married Opel W. Littlefield in Plano, Texas. She was a past member of Waddill Street Baptist Church and a member of the First Baptist Church in McKinney. She worked as an LVN at Collin Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her son, Marvin G. Littlefield of Flatonia, Texas; daughters, Verlyne Palmer of Houston, Texas and Margaret O’Bryant of Columbus, Ohio ; brother, Ricky Creel of Granbury, Texas; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Flora Barnett. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 12, 2007, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
