Ruth G. Baker

Ruth G. Baker of McKinney, Texas passed away July 8, 2019 at the age 79. She was born on September 26, 1939 to George Herman Loomis and Goldie Irene (Jensen) Loomis in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Ruth served her country proudly in the United States Navy from 1958 – 1960.  She married Donald Lee Baker on December 19, 1959 in North Chicago, Illinois.  Ruth was a member of First United Methodist Church in McKinney, Texas. She loved to country dance.  Ruth was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family.

Ruth is survived by her beloved husband, Donald Lee Baker of McKinney, Texas; daughters, Nancy Preston of Plano, Texas and Patty Smith and husband, Victor of Berthoud, Colorado; grandchildren, Aaron Smith of Carrollton, Texas, Brandon Smith of Milliken, Colorado, William Preston and wife, Kaitlyn of Mary Esther, Florida and John Preston of Plano, Texas; great-grandson, Jackson Preston ; brother, John Loomis and wife, Louise of Whitewater, Wisconsin;  and sister, Margaret Spielman of Frisco, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Goldie Loomis; three sisters, and one brother.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 12, 2019 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Interment is to follow at Cottage Hill Cemetery, 11444 FM 2478, Celina, Texas 75009. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Thursday afternoon to pay their respects and to sign the register book.

Don so sorry to hear of Ruth's passing. You and Ruth have been missed at the dances---no one circled the dance floor as fast as both of you. You and Ruth are in my thoughts and prayers.
