Ruth Elberta Cooper of McKinney, Texas passed away March 30, 2013 at the age of 77. She was born February 5, 1936 to Lucious and Mildred (Gallagher) Mason in Chillicothe, Ohio. Ruth married Dewey Cooper, Jr. on February 19, 1955 in Columbus, Ohio. She grew up in Ohio where she attended school. Ruth was employed by The Kroger Company for 23 years. She loved country music and enjoyed cooking.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Dewey Cooper, Jr. of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Deborah Gilmore and husband Bruce of Allen, Texas; son, Dale Cooper and wife Wendy of Ruskin, Florida; grandchildren, Brian Gilmore and wife Sarah, Eric Gilmore and wife Allison, Joseph Cooper and wife Ashley, Stefanie Cooper Harris; great-grandchild, Julia Gilmore; brother, Gilbert Mason of London, Ohio; sister, Patricia Holmes of Grove City, Ohio and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relative and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucious Mason and Mildred Robey and brother, Gerald Mason.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 8, 2013 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel. Interment is to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday evening from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
