Mrs. Ruth Marshall Long Comegys, formerly of McKinney passed away on May 14, 2005 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Ruth was born in Mitchell County, Texas on September 14, 1914. She married L. Kenneth Long on March 26, 1932, moving to McKinney in 1945. Kenneth passed away June 1965. In January 1972, she married George Wilkins Comegys, who passed away in 1978. Ruth was a member of the McKinney Hospital Auxiliary and the First Christian Church. She had earned the Master’s rating in the American Bridge Association. She is survived by her sister, Modene Porter of Wichita Falls; daughters, Pat Loftin and husband, Tom of Windthorst, Texas and Jan Johnson and husband, Scott of Collinsville, Texas; grandchildren, Alison Hale and husband, Randy of Ft. Worth, Texas, Scotty Johnson and wife, Kelli and family of Seminole, Texas, Ross Johnson and wife, Kim and family of Denton, Texas Sherry King and husband, Cavin and family of Gainesville, Texas; step-sons, George Comegys and wife, Sharon and family of Kerrville, Texas, and John Comegys and wife, Lynda and Family of Kerrville, Texas. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, L. Kenneth Long and Wilkins Comegys; stepson, Jewel Comegys; brother, James Marshall; and great grandson, Jace Johnson. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at Restland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Monday, May 16, 2005 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. For those desiring to do so, in lieu of flowers, please make memorials to First Christian Church, McKinney, Texas; Hospice, or the charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the staff of Royal Estates, Wichita Falls Care Partners Hospice and Dr. Arti Patel and staff for the loving care and comfort they provided Ruth during her illness.
