Ruth Alice Manchester, age 79, of Plano, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 22, 2018. Ruth was born November 5, 1938, in Atlanta, Texas, to William Hodge, Sr. and Frances (Dobbs) Rosser. She graduated from High School in Big Spring, Texas and married Fredric Manchester, Sr. on April 1, 1956. Ruth and Fredric moved from state to state while he was in the service. She spent several years in Wylie, Texas and her remaining years in Plano.
She is survived by her children, Tammy Brill and husband, Raymond of Fairview, Texas, Chris Manchester and wife, Leslie of Plano, Fred Manchester, Jr. and wife, Kim of Allen, Texas, and Melissa Austin and husband, Danny of Murphy, Texas; grandchildren, Jared Manchester and wife, Noémi, Christopher Manchester, Rebecca Brill and Kenny Davis, all of Wylie, Justin Manchester and wife, Elise of Austin, Texas, Raymond Brill, IV and Glenn Brill, all of Fairview, Leslie Manchester of Allen, and Joshua Austin, Jakob Austin, and Emilie Austin, all of Murphy; nine great-grandchildren; brother, William H. Rosser, Jr., of Poolville, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Richard Rosser, and grandchildren Frances Brill, Frederic William Brill, and 1LT Robert Welch, III.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 26, 2018, at Kildare Cemetery in Kildare, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
