Russell Patty, 79, of Leonard, TX, was received into heaven on Tue, July 21, 2020 to be with his beloved Jesus. Russell was born in Bokchito, OK on November 8, 1940 to Raymon “R.O.” Patty and Carmen Smith Patty. Russell is survived by his soulmate & wife, Rhonda Patty, they were blessed with over 35yrs of marriage and cherished life’s journey together.
Russell graduated from Bokchito High School in 1958. He then moved to Dallas where he worked for the City of Dallas for one year. He joined Otis Elevator Company in 1959 in accounting until he joined the Army in September, 1963. Russell was stationed in Oakland, CA but had a brief stint in South Korea. He left with an honorable discharge August, 1965. Upon return to Texas he worked for Otis Elevator Company as an elevator mechanic June, 1967 - March, 1999. After only 2 weeks of retirement he started his second career as a state elevator inspector, retiring in 2010.
Russell loved being with his family & friends, high school classmates, chatting with so many in and around the Leonard community. He enjoyed playing Mexican Train with the KeenAgers group where he formed new friendships so special to him. He had a deep faith and loved his church family. Russell relished being surrounded with the many beautiful plants, birds, squirrels and other critters in his peaceful backyard. Russell’s sweet soul & great sense of humor touched so many.
He is also survived by son, John Russell Patty & daughter-in-law Kristi, grandson, Dalton, brother, Buddy Patty and wife Tommye; his beloved pets, Mika, Max, Shawnee, Skidder, and Ziggy as well as many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, August 1, First United Methodist Church, 206 N Main St, Leonard, TX 75452 to reminisce Russell’s beautiful life.
