Russell Eugene Greenwalt of McKinney, Texas passed away on August 20, 2021 at the age of 55. He was born on March 16, 1966 to Alvin and Janet (O’Neill) Greenwalt in Grand Island, Nebraska. Russ grew up in St. Paul, Nebraska graduating high school in 1984. He married Marcie McCann and they had two daughters, Chelsey and Sara. He attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney and graduated with a degree in Finance. He later met his husband, Joseph Peetoom, and gained a daughter and son, Chayce and Joshua. He spent his career in Corporate Leadership in various industries from technology to healthcare. Russ had a passion for remodeling homes and fast cars. He loved going to the casino and cooking for his family and friends. But more than anything he loved and adored his husband, children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his husband, Joseph Peetoom of McKinney, Texas; mother, Janet Greenwalt; daughters, Chelsey Campbell (Cody), Sara Parish (James), Chayce Adams (Jordan); son, Josh Peetoom (Andrea); grandchildren, Hadley Campbell, Harper Campbell, and Presley Peetoom; brother, David Greenwalt (Christine); sister, Rebecca Covert (Dan); brother, Chris Greenwalt (Trisha); brother-in-law, Jay Peetoom (Criss); sister-in-law, Michelle Richter (Chris); brother-in-law, Rick Rothrock; father-in-law, Gary Peetoom; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Russ was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Greenwalt; sister-in-law, Lori Greenwalt; grandparents, Clem and Elma O’Neill and Ambrose and Ann Greenwalt; father and mother-in-law, Bill and Candice Rothrock; and step mother-in-law, Connie Peetoom.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
